History is more than what we read in a textbook—it is the foundation that helps us understand who we are, where we come from, and what is possible for the future.

The Clarksville Black History Bowl is an annual academic competition that brings together middle and high school students to test their knowledge of African American history, culture, achievements, and local contributions. Through friendly competition, students will have the opportunity to discover the people, movements, moments, and stories that have shaped Black history while celebrating the power of knowledge and academic excellence.

The Black History Bowl is designed to make learning history engaging, exciting, and meaningful. We want young people to become more deeply rooted in where they come from, develop a greater appreciation for the contributions of Black Americans, and recognize that academic achievement deserves to be celebrated.

Who Can Participate?

Middle and high school teams from Clarksville-Montgomery County and surrounding communities are invited to participate. Whether your students are history buffs or simply ready to learn something new, we encourage schools, churches, youth organizations, homeschool groups, and community programs to form a team and join us.

Participation Is FREE!

There is no cost to participate in the Clarksville Black History Bowl. Registered teams will also receive study materials to help students prepare for the competition.
